LinkedIn Mistake That Can Cost You BIG!
I see this all the time, but this one really hit home. A client of mine has three companies, and one of their employees took the initiative to set up a company page for one of them.
Great, right? Not so much.
Instead of creating a proper Company Page, they set it up as a Personal Profile. They put in the work—uploaded content, made connections, built a presence—and then… LinkedIn shut it down.
Why? Because LinkedIn’s terms & conditions clearly state that company pages should not be set up as personal profiles. If you do, LinkedIn can (and will) lock you out. No warning, no second chances. That’s exactly what happened here. The time and effort? Gone.
Now, I’m rebuilding their Company Page from scratch (which is what should’ve been done in the first place). But this is a hard lesson that could’ve been avoided.
Here’s the deal:
✅ Personal Profiles are for individuals—your professional brand, connections, and content.
🏢 Company Pages are for businesses—where you showcase your brand, services, and updates.
🚫 Mixing them up? That’s a fast track to frustration and wasted time.
👉 If you’re unsure how to properly set up a LinkedIn Company Page, I can help. I’ll build it for you, show you how to manage it, or take it off your plate completely. No stress, no mistakes, no shutdowns.
